CBD cigarettes have been a longtime favorite for cannabis consumers — particularly those who have used them to try and quit smoking. As the scene has continued to grow to include alternative forms of THC, Vance Global has come out with its own brand of D8 smokes.

What is Vance Global?
Vance Global is a cannabis company founded in 2018. While they have a whole line of products — including some edibles — their main focus was in the realm of “hempettes.”
This term refers to CBD joints that come in the shape of a cigarette. Vance made a big splash when they unveiled their “natural blend” version which included lavender along with CBD to add to the relaxing effect and flavor of the smoke.
While their products have shifted over time, none of them ever contain tobacco and they are all cannabis-based.
What are Delta-8 Cigarettes?
Delta-8 cigarettes are hempettes with an infusion of Delta-8 THC. Since the process for making delta-8 THC requires producers to make it as a distillate or isolate, there are currently no options for flower that only contains Delta-8 THC.
All of it will be CBD flower that producers spray down with Delta-8 distillate. Consumers should note that the effect of Delta-8 THC — which itself is less powerful than Delta-9 THC — will be slightly lower through the addition of CBD
Some research shows that CBD can counteract some of the intoxicating qualities of THC. This is the reason for the common tactic of smoking CBD whenever a person has consumed too much THC.
What are Delta-8 Cigarettes Good For?
Lower potency isn’t always a bad thing. Plenty of people enjoy Delta-8 cigarettes as an easier daytime smoke. It’s also great for people who want to partake in THC but find it to be a bit too much for them to handle.
Each of us has a different level of tolerance for THC and these are perfect for people who prefer to consume smaller amounts instead. This doesn’t mean that it won’t lead to intoxication — it will, for the record.
Can Delta-8 Cigarettes Help People Quit Smoking?
The original concept for hempettes was to create a replacement solution for tobacco. While tobacco is mentally addictive, it also has a huge power over physical addictivity.
The idea is that CBD could provide anxiolytic qualities while also replacing the habit of smoking. For that reason, many have found success in cutting off the habit of smoking thanks to the replacement of cigarettes with hempettes.
Would this be true for Delta-8 Cigarettes? It’s hard to say.
On one hand, the anxiolytic — anti-anxiety — qualities of THC and CBD together might be more powerful than on their own. That’s because THC is helpful for anxiety in small doses but large doses can make it worse.
CBD, on the other hand, is anxiolytic at all doses and can help to decrease the heavy intoxication of THC. Anxiety is a big part of the reason why people don’t stick with quitting so addressing this concern is huge.
With a lack of research on the topic, everyone may be different on whether Delta-8 cigarettes are an effective tool to combat the cravings of addiction. If you are trying to quit, you might consider picking yourself up a pack and giving it a shot for yourself.
Delta-8 THC Disclaimer
This product will lead to intoxication and users should never drive or operate heavy machinery while using Delta-8 THC cigarettes. Even a minor amount of intoxication can be enough to slow your response times down, creating a potential hazard for high-risk activities.
In addition to this, it’s important to note that Delta-8 THC will show up in drug tests. There is currently no way for drug tests to differentiate between the many different forms of THC.
